Water News Europe: Torrential ‘Atmospheric River’ hits Southern Spain
Since early 2026, Spain has been struck by seven major storms. Trapped between two high-pressure systems, this “atmospheric river” has caused continuous rainfall over the same region. Andalusian president Juanma Moreno called it an unprecedented and devastating phenomenon for the region.

DARAJ Media: Illegal Landfills and Unenforced Closures: Iraq’s Diyala Residents Face a Slow Death
Iraq produces approximately 50,000 tons of solid waste per day. According to the National Development Plan 2024–2028 issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Planning, 149 out of 221 landfill sites lack environmental approval.
