NBSOIL Tools - Resources For Soil Advisors Interactive Map
The NBSOIL interactive map helps soil advisors locate resources in five categories: Training and Education, Tools and Apps, Documents and Media, Peer Networks, and Social Media. It allows filtering by category, access format (on-site, online, hybrid), and cost (free, paid, or free basic access with paid options). Built on GoGoCarto, it supports open contributions and is regularly curated.
The NBSOIL Marketplace emerges as a dynamic platform for stakeholders to collaborate among soil advisors, researchers, land managers, and stakeholders, sharing ideas, knowledge, and services related to soil health. The NBSOIL Marketplace is hosted on the TriplePerformance.fr platform, designed for the dissemination of agroecological practices among farmers and advisors. This platform will allow both the capitalisation of structured knowledge with its wiki system and bottom-up collaborative interactions.
NBSOIL Publications - The Impact of Cover Crops on Soil Quality
The aim of this study is to review the current state of knowledge regarding the role of cover crops as Nature-based Solutions (NBS) in agriculture. Authors: Beata Bartosiewicz, Rafał Wawer, Ludwika Poręba, Grzegorz Siebielec
This deck contains cards for the five Biogeographical regions present in the NBSOIL consortium countries: Continental (Poland); Mediterranean (Spain and Italy); Atlantic (United Kingdom, France, and The Netherlands); Alpine (Switzerland and Austria); and Pannonian (Austria).
The Visioning Cards offer a flexible visual language for describing and defining soil challenges and solutions. They support soil advisors and educators in explaining soil health concepts to a wide range of audiences, distilling knowledge from soil textbooks and manuals into clear, accessible formats. The cards make learning about soil both engaging and enjoyable.
Paludiculture refers to the productive use of wet and rewetted peatlands, focusing on sustainable agriculture while maintaining the ecological functions of these vital ecosystems. This innovative approach promotes water conservation, carbon storage, and biodiversity, making it a critical tool in combating climate change. By growing water-tolerant plants, paludiculture balances agricultural productivity with environmental preservation.
The knowledge base presents a portfolio of NBS for soil health, aligned with the objectives of the EU Soil Mission.
