Celebrating Teamwork at Bogatell Beach

DSC01503 (1)

The AMWAJ team joined forces for a beach clean-up at Bogatell Beach, guided by experts from PlasticFREEwave. Just steps from our REVOLVE Mediterraneo office, we rolled up our sleeves to make a tangible difference. While Barcelona’s beaches are generally clean, marine pollution remains a pressing issue. In just one hour, our team collected 23 kg of litter—a reminder of the work still to be done.

        Building Climate Resilience in Catalonia

        AMWAJ_Stories_newsletter (7)

In August 2023, scientists warned that the Aneto Glacier, Spain’s largest, could vanish within a decade, reflecting how climate change is reshaping Catalonia’s mountains. To respond, EU-funded projects are helping communities adapt: Med-IREN is restoring riverbanks and wetlands with nature-based solutions, while RESIST equips towns like Terrassa and Blanes with Argos, an early-warning tool that uses real-time data to anticipate extreme weather. Together, they show how nature and technology can build resilience in one of Europe’s most climate-vulnerable regions. Read the story by Mariam Younes.

Rehabilitation of the Post-war Agricultural Sector in Lebanon

          AMWAJ_Stories_newsletter (8)

Farmers face unsafe conditions, displacement, and collapsing livelihoods, while olives, tobacco, and other key crops were wiped out. Local initiatives are pushing for urgent decontamination and stronger protections to secure the future of Lebanon’s agriculture.
